Why are Flood Stories so Prevalent in the Ancient World? Did It Happen?
While the Biblical account of Noah’s flood is the most well-known flood tradition, there are numerous other narratives that are thousands of years old, and many of them predate the Torah. These various myths are prevalent across time and found in almost every civilization. Although all the flood stories vary, sometimes to large degrees, many of them have striking threads of commonality. Often these stories are told about one human family that survives on a ship. Animals are involved in many of these stories and there is almost always a moral, with the flood coming only after the human race has committed some wrong doing. In this fascinating broadcast, Rabbi Tovia Singer explains why we encounter this account in almost every culture of human civilization.
Rabbi,
Did rainbows exist before the flood? Was the properties of light different before the flood, or was the prism effect simply not expressed when it rained before the flood?
Kind regards,
P.S.Keep up the awesome video’s.
the flood has happens, during the first day with Noach when ELOHEEM returns from TheDay of Rest. and i believe Noach lived for about 350 years till the flood. and so the current year i believe is 5775 or 6, and if you subtract 350 from that you get about 5425 years ago and counting. with noach passing on somewhat shy of about the year 974.
that would make Abram(Avraham) born about 3827 years ago at the end of the second day or the year1948.
which would make, TheTorah given to Moshe about the year 2435. or about 3340 years ago from our current year.
and would expect the arrival of Adam somewhere about short of the year 3896 again.
and would expect Adam to be returned as adam and his mate about the year 5714. which is about three hours shy of the beginning of the sevent day again.
which would make the arrival of Noach again, about the end of the year 6818. and due to the creeping crud, untrue to ELOHEEM condition of this world again. i do not imagine, it is going to happen, any different than the last two Torot times with adam and his mate.
and as to who were, the kosher and non-kosher animals boarding the ark. well that, is not as clear. but i believe the number of animals, to be around 144,000 subtle talking beast of the field he/she units. can’s say for certain, because i have never been there for that period of time in TheTorah. i have always been, physically returned at this exact same This Physical time in TheTorah. it has always happened, before and after i am physically here.
